PARANGA was created by Yiannis Boutaris – a larger-than-life personality whose influence reached far beyond wine.
To generations, he was simply kir-Yiannis. In Greek “kir” is a traditional expression of respect, spoken with warmth and familiarity.
That was exactly the spirit of PARANGA as well: wine that didn’t have to be complicated to be taken seriously.
In MMIV (2004), PARANGA was introduced to the local market. Curious by nature and independent in spirit, kir-Yiannis imagined a quality Greek wine that belonged to people, not occasions.
The goal was never to impress. It was to bring people together.
And that’s the idea that continues to shape PARANGA today.
