It All Started After the Belly Flop <\/span><\/strong> \n<\/span><\/p>\n\n

The idea began taking shape right around the time the unofficial diving championship kicked off. Every amateur diver -slapped with uneven sunscreen and running on adrenaline- eventually gets tired of competing for the gold. They drag themselves back to the shore, collapse onto their straw mat, and plead for some cold water. That\u2019s pretty much how the almost-Olympians in my group raided our cooler, leaving behind nothing but the lukewarm water of melted ice. Yet, we were approaching the most crucial stretch of a beach day: the wind-down. That moment when you start to relax, when you begin to feel a little chilly and might even throw on your T-shirt. It\u2019s the time when most people start heading home and a little laid-back music slowly takes over. The water had done its job; now it was time for a proper sunset reward. That\u2019s when the idea for this refreshing drink really took hold.<\/p>\n\n

The Deus Ex Machina of Beach Bags<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Then, like a divine sign from above, I remembered my tote bag. During a stroke of last-minute genius before leaving the hotel, I had packed a bottle of white wine and a small, perfectly ripe melon. I had thought we might want to open them at some point, and that moment had arrived -accompanied, in my head, by the sound of angelic tenors singing in Dolby Surround.<\/p>\n\n

“If Only We Had Some Ice…”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Before I could even finish the idea in my mind, cheers erupted from the group next to us. They were welcoming their “savior”, a friend who had braved an 800-meter trek across burning sand to bring back a fresh bag of ice. They were in the exact same boat as us. And just like that, my afternoon was saved.<\/p>\n\n

I charged toward destiny, the wine and the melon in hand. The concept was simple: plastic cup, ice cubes, melon chunks, and our favorite white wine wrapping it all together I got a round of doubtful looks. “You don’t put ice and floating fruit in wine…” Why not give it a chance, I thought. And just as fearlessly as I made my drink, I served it. I stayed on the course. The doubts were gone when the first sip landed.<\/p>\n\n

“Wait, what is this? A wine cocktail, a spritz, or some kind of sangria?” \n<\/span>“Do you like it or not? Isn’t that all that matters?”<\/span><\/p><\/p>\n\n

Taking the Hack Level Up<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n\n

We loved it. It was exactly what the moment called for. But as a true innovator, I knew every great hack deserved a proper upgrade.<\/p>\n\n
